About MSS 2026
20 to 22 October 2026 · Cape Town, South Africa
Market Systems Symposium is a deliberately engineered space where strategic system actors come together to design, test, and advance real-world market systems change. It is not conference-as-usual: MSS creates the conditions for alignment, hard questions, and practical decisions across donors, practitioners, government, and the private sector.
Why people return: cross-actor dialogue you cannot replicate in a single-organization workshop; structured time to test ideas with peers who carry different incentives; and connection to the year-round MSD network beyond the three days in Cape Town.
2026 thematic areas include:
- Resilient food systems and inclusive markets
- Jobs, livelihoods and economic inclusion
- Climate, resilience and circular economies
- Finance and investment for market systems change
- AI and market systems development

Go further than a post
If you want to help MSS2026 reach more of the right people, there are other ways to get involved:
- Bring colleagues: program leads, MEL, and leadership who need donor or government counterparts in the same room
- Connect partners: foundations, CSR teams, or organizations that should be part of the conversation
- Sponsorship and activations: support inclusion, thematic sessions, or year-round MSD network activities
Partnership keeps the symposium accessible to practitioners globally and sustains the field-building work that continues after Cape Town.
